Impunity is the violation of a state’s obligation to investigate and prosecute crimes and their perpetrators, especially the obligation to ensure victims’ rights to redress and to know the truth, and to ensure that those violations will never be repeated, using all the means at its disposal.

Impunity is one of the key problems in Central America and Mexico, standing at 90%. CIFCA advocates to ensure that human rights violations committed in Central America and Mexico will not remain unpunished.
